I have a conundrum with my father-in-law's MY15 Jetta, which still has the old RNS510 (ssd version, I think) and the MDI in the glovebox. They have an old iPod, which they would like to connect via the MDI.
I thought this would be an easy task because I had purchased the correct MMI Media-In Interface Cable for my iPod a couple of years ago to run in my R36, which of course has RNS510.
So I first connected the cable up to the MDI in the R36 and turned on the iPod and it worked correctly. When I tried to do the same connection in the Jetta there was nothing, zip. I've checked that the Aux Input function was ticked in Settings.
I am at a loss as to what is wrong. The iPod cable worked in the Passat but not the Jetta... Is it possibly something to do with the RNS510 version in the Jetta? Have I got the wrong cable? Or is it a possible VCDS issue?
