    Hi guys,

    I've updated to FW3970 today.

I wanted to update my maps with a modified version with personal POIs but the RNS is not reading the map disk nor is it saying its the same version etc...I have renamed the disk as CD_7943. Do I have to update the toc file as well??

Ejecting it, message says ejecting navigation disk. I've tried my prev v4.1 CD_7942 maps which I used to update my system prev, it still doesn't do anything nor say anything. The disk just sits in there. When you do the update your maps does the screen show any status of it installing? Coz mine didn't tell that it finished prev.
    Am I missing anything?

Yes your renaming seems to have failed.

Basically like a computer ... you can't install something that's already installed.

So suggest loading an older map (e.g. V4.0 or V3.0 map) onto HDD first, then your modified V4.1 map will be recognised again by the unit as new map.

Also due to increased safety the speed limit on the M5 in Sydney has been increased from 100 to 120km/h...seriously sensis wtf?

I noticed that as well on my way to the Airport. I took a pic but can't upload till Friday now. That was classic.

If the M5 were a European toll road the speed limit would be 130 for cars, and in my mind, and as proven across Europe, that would be safer than having cars stuck at a max of 110 between King Georges Road and toll gates, and both cars and trucks with the same speed limit of 100 west of the toll gates. My reasoning being that the road services Port Botany container terminal, and is a major road freight corridor to all points south of Sydney. Trucks are supposed to be speed limited to 100. European heavy vehicles have been required by law to be speed limited to 90kph since 01/01/06 providing a 40kph differential between cars and heavy vehicles. I wouldn't mind a beer for every time I've been overtaken by a B-Double at 5 in the morning. Having cars and heavy trucks bunched up so tightly at 100kph+ that you could throw a picnic blanket over them is lunacy. If cars could go faster (or trucks slower) the situation wouldn't exist. And don't you love it when one truck doing 104kph pulls out to overtake another one doing 106, and it takes him 4 or 5 kilometres to get round. Good on Sensis for taking the lead, and showing some initiative sadly lacking by the dolts that manage our roads . Now, if only we could teach people on entry ramps that you can't merge with 110 kph traffic when you're only doing 75.:face palm: There endeth my rant. Sorry mods.

Who wants to be the test case in the driver VS Sensis case to argue your speeding fine is their fault ?
