You need to save your VCF files in folder called "destination" or "destinations".

    Probably plural!

Can confirm for sure once I get home and plug in my SD card into computer.

Got this all working fine now but one of my addresses today was the wrong street. So I'm not sure if this mapping system (on the German vw site) is completely reliable.

Just to re-iterate. This German site is not fool proof. It seems to convert the addresses into GPS co-ordinates which the RNS interprets in its own way. I've had a few address now which are slightly different to that which I requested. Deal breaker for me. Back to the old manually inputting. Geez I'm lazy!

I've been running aussietig's POI database with a few additions since January, and am grateful to both aussietig and kamold for making that possible. I've been going back and forth over the threads dealing with custom POIs in the hope of finding updated info on speed camera source databases, and installation of them onto the RNS 510/Columbus. The only thing I've got so far is a headache.

I've been seeing a few former red light cameras that have been changed to combo red light and speed cameras, so thought it about time to update my POIs. I checked the RTA website, and the .pdf location list of cameras (dated August 2012) indeed sees quite a few changes that don't show up on the "updated" web sourced POI databases. My main computer is an iMac. To use POInspector I've got to boot up my old steam driven Windows laptop, but if I can't get up to date data it doesn't seem worth it. Does anyone know of a Mac compatible POI editor?

Don't get me wrong. I started off by saying I was grateful to have what I've got, and I am. It only came up because I'd noticed that some cameras had changed their function at about the same time I'd been offered a speed camera update deal from TomTom for $17 for a year. Mrs BS uses my old TomTom, so I bought the updates for her, and they seem to be current. I'm even considering just plugging the TomTom into the 12V outlet when we go interstate at Xmas. Up to date, and audible. I'm just looking for solutions someone else might have tumbled to, because I haven't got the nous to figure it out myself.

Have been waiting for some new member to donate the latest map (CD_7703), before updating all my Personal POIs (especially cameras).

But your post has reminded me that we have been waiting for a long time.

Anyhow, have decided to update all my camera POI categories based on a fresh download from Trapster earlier tonight!

My last update of cameras was February 2012 and now it is refreshed to November 2012 and NATIONWIDE.

I have deleted the Point to Point Cameras but added instead a new set of cameras called Traffic Hazard Ahead.

Basically this new POI category contains dangerous intersections, bends, narrow bridges.

For those interested, go back to post #21 to download the new PersonalPOI.db3 file.

Then reload (via SD Card) new file and the import process will overwrite the old and replace with new Personal POIs.

We have toolbooths in Australia? (Melbourne just has the eTags which the maps already warn you about when using Nav)

    Thanks

    Thanks
The state government authority that allegedly runs roads in NSW just spent about $5M over about 18 months to remove toll booths from Western Sydney's biggest car park, a.k.a. the M4, after the tolls were abolished. Now the state government is muttering about reintroducing the tolls. Such is life in the state where the management of government infrastructure hasn't changed much since the days of The Rum Corps.

Sorry please go back to post #21 to download the new PersonalPOI.db3 file with the above changes.

Then reload (via SD Card) new file and the import process will overwrite the old and replace with new Personal POIs.
