6x9" Custom mount. Pic request.

I was hope you guys can give me some pics of any custom 6X9" speakers mounted on parcel shelf. Thats is raised and on angle for most optimal effects.

Perhaps link me up to web, I need inspirations.!!

its not a 6x9, but they are 4" splits. is this the type of thing you want?

personally i hate sound comming from the rear, but if its just the mid bass you want to come from the rear, you may be best to build a solid shelf, and just mount the 6x9 flat on the shelf.

thanks for the post. Personally I like sound from the rear. I like the feeling of music all round, "bathing in music." ATM I feel like something is missing. Also another reason I want to see different ways of how 6x9s are mounted is becasue don't like things sticking out of the parcel shelf. And of course I would be making parcel shelf from MDF when I get the speakers.

you can mount a mdf board bellow and the factory parcel shelf, in addition you can add an mdf ring of sorts around the 6x9 mounted into the parcel shelf, that way you can carpet it from one side to the other, and nobody would ever know.

Sorry i have no pics of what i did here but worked well.

also you dont want your 6x9's angled to the front, you would be better off firing the tweeters if possible towards the rear hatches glass, and then rebounds back to. You would have much more fuller sound i guess as you call it, as all the soudn will blend more effectively.

Also how would I amp it. ? I run 4 channel amp, rear channel is for the sub on low pass. If I bridge it with front I would have to sacrafice my fader.

For the component 6x9 - yes DLS and FOCAL use to. But i'm pretty sure DLS still do.

Ultimately no you dont want to run the front component splits and the 6x9 off of the same channels.

Mainly tyhe frequency range are different for the 2 designs. What you can do is run the 6x9's off of the rear channels from the headunit, or vice versa with fronts on head unit and then amp your rears.

but the second option i would not recommend.
you can add a 2nd little 2ch amp to run 6x9's.

One thing i did forget to mention, as the 6x9 play low enough to the subwoofer frequencies.

This is one thing which will happen and actually make you regret doing the 6x9 add on.

Becauase the 6x9 and subwoofer frequencies will cross - they will actually cancel the frequencies, as well as the sound pressure of the sub woofer will ultimately damage the 6x9 speaker.

Well I don't have to have 6x9s, I bascially want sound from the parcel shelf. May sound weird but totally my personal preferance. I can feel an "empty space"

I have 2 4'' speakers, would that work, if I only want support ?

I don't mind relocating my current 6.5' component to the parcel shelf and replacing with others.

just use the sub for bass. have some nice splits at d front and abit or no rear fill.

there is something wrong with your front stage. check your amp settings or cabling, coz it should sound better then that for those speakers.

Yeah i agree with Ray. there could be wiring/amp issues dude, my STOCK speakers sounded louder than yours and your are boston so I'm worried!

...You could always just do a re-wire to make sure +ve and -ve are all right and everything is connected PROPERLY etc lol

he already knows that but he would still like to use rear speakers.

do you have a 3 door or 5 door vr6?

what i could suggest is that you install additional speakers in the rear. Be it the rear doors or the rear panel skins.

you can again install a little 2 ch amp for rear.

But i guess if you really want your rear parcel shelf sound.

do component speaker in the rear skins or rear doors then install the tweeters on the rear corners of the car or if really want on the rear parcel shelf.
