your car has a red instruments display, which means, you won't have the navigation info in the instruments (nice feature, if you had a white display) - only the real advantage over any other navigation unit out there.

Does the 2007 Jetta only have the half-height MFD? I'm pretty sure navigation does appear on a full height red MFD, but certainly not telephone functions without an additional module.

Yep my 2007 Jetta only has the half height instrument display panel exactly the same as the one pictured:


So there isn't any phone or other data that comes up.

In that case, Transporter is 100% correct and you'll get much more bang for your buck from an aftermarket unit. Of course, you could always upgrade your instrument cluster and CANBUS, but then you will have entered the slippery slope of never ending modifications.
