    Car related CES 2013 news

Interesting infotainment system in the Chevy Spark (USA) with Siri and apps (TuneIn, etc).

Chevy's Siri and TuneIn in-car apps hit 2013 Sonics and Sparks, we go hands-on (video)

Will see if there's any more news through the week

iPhone only again? One of these days this fad will die out - Android has already overtaken iPhone in terms of sales for a while now so I doubt any iPhone-specific functions will survive in the long run.

Here's a much better solution that will not be reliant on any specific operating system once the manufacturers get on board:

    Car Tech - MirrorLink 1.0 - YouTube

TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

Yeah, I've seen a few Parrot systems, and Jaguar were doing something similar with Blackberry.

I'm an Android person myself due to the extra uses, file manager, less restrictions, etc.

Guys I'm in the car audio industry.... I'm a rep for Sony, Polk and Orion car audio brands....

Keep an eye out later this quarter for the new Sony products..... Android and iPhone users will be very impressed!!

    Thanks for posting

The main things I'm interested in for now (if I was going to replace the RNS510):

    * Built-in Digital radio (DAB+)
    * Android apps (Tune-In, Soundhound, Torque Pro, Google Navigation)
    * Reading out SMS messages and emails received after system asks me if I want to listen to them
    * DVD playback (with some way to hack video in motion on)
    * Clean 'professional' interface. There's plenty of cheaper stuff already available with 'more' features but the GUI looks like it came from 1993.
    * Full integration with VW as per RNS (reverse camera, MFD communication, steering wheel controls, voice control, bluetooth, etc)
    * HDD to store music and maps as per RNS, bluetooth streaming with AVRCP.

If you get get great Google integration as far as maps go, especially when searching for business without having to stop, would be the clincher.

Hope you can pass that feedback along to a few people
