    Cannot delete navigation memory

Can anybody tell me how to reformat the HDD?
After few firmware upgrades I noticed that some destinations in the navigation memory cannot be deleted. Seems some part of the memory became corrupt.
I tried to reset it, no success.

Kamold should be able to help you. Or any member (sponsor) with setcofig for RNS510 units.

Also look here RNS510 upgrades, repairs incl. coding. Who can help.

From memory (i'll have to check) previous destinations are not stored on the HDD. So firmware upgrade will not remove them, same way radio presets are not removed. They are stored in seperate NVRAM.

Unless the NVRAM is actually faulty, should be able to delete it with setconfig (a low level tool and software to access the RNS in debug mode).

Hi kamold, thanks for the quick reply.
This is not about previous destinations, this is about saved destinations so its the NVRAM probably as you mentioned.
So should I bring it to the VW service and ask them to access it with setconfig?
Or should I try to reset the whole unit, maybe that will clear the NVRAM?

Vw do not have setconfig, it is an aftermarket tool.

It didn't help. Just downgraded the fw to 3810 now and tried again, but couldn't delete them. Bugger.

Eureka! I managed to delete the entries!
All of them had voice tag associated with it and I had to delete those voice tags first, then I was able to completely delete the entries.

Thanks kamold for your kind offer, it seems I don't need to visit you after all.

Good find. Hopefully will save someone else some frustration if they face the same issue.
