    Cheers

New head unit has a cable for the reversing camera to automatically set to camera on reverse. Not required as i dont have a camera but may aswell install now whilst im installing unit.

I picked it up just next to the rear seat on the passenger side, was in the process of routing it back to the tail light when I found the loom there. So it would make sense that it runs all the way down the passenger side I would think, didn't actually look as I just tapped into it there.

Yes, just a standard splice connector block thingy, never know what they are actually called! Please don't ask me what colour wire it was though as I can't remember!! I just used a multimeter to test the wires at the tail light to find out the wire colour then found that in the loom.

I am amazed a Pioneer head unit does not come with a facia, I have fitted a single DIN Pioneer in my previous car and that came with one, although I couldn't use it as it didn't fit.

Which model is it? I just looked at the manual for the AVH-P3250BT on the Pioneer website and under the installation section it states:

    NOTE
In some types of vehicles, discrepancy may occur between the unit and the dashboard. If this happens, use the supplied frame to fill the gap.
I think your unit was missing this part from the box. A company like Pioneer would not supply a unit that could not be made to look mounted properly in a vehicle.

Pioneer Australia are very helpful, might be worth calling them to check if the unit should come with a frame.

Hmm im not sure. Apparently it doesnt come with one and pioneer dont make any. They use the screw in ones not the cage design. Oh well its coming in now anyway should hopefully look good. I found the wiring loom you talked about when putting the gps sensor on the back parcel shelf allthough i didnt connect it up. Cheers tho.

Cool, would be interested in seeing some photos when it is fitted and hearing your opinion of the unit.
