    Bora Ipod connectivity.

    Hi,

Is there a way to get the stock radio headset to have ipod connectivity on an 2001 bora?

Maybe. It depends which stock radio you have.

Eurovox - Nope - buy a new stereo.

Gamma - There's a few adaptors out there which make the ipod look like a CD changer. bit dodgy but some people do it.

I think there's some other radios that can be made to work too, but honestly your best shot is just to buy a new deck.

There's those FM or cassette tape adaptors too of course which might suit your needs. Pick 'em up cheap anywhere.

Not really, although you're better off because the MK4 will easily take aftermarket radios.

I've got an Eclipse CD5030 in mine which is just fantastic.

I don't have an ipod myself but I've had a friends hooked up to it and it's prety amazing the way it controls it. Rear USB connection too so you can hide the ipod in the glovebox.

I use a 64Gb USB thumb drive loaded with MP3s rather than an ipod.

Bluetooth handsfree for my phone too.

As Pete said just upgrade to after market, from what i hear using the stock unit can be pretty restrictive. I have a aftermarket display, the only thing i cant do is pick movies, i have to select them on my ipod, then they will come up on the display and through the speakers. But i think that has been fixed in the newer models.
