Make sure you get one that supports the red MFD, not the white one in the Mk6
FST Auto Penrith VW Specialist Highly recommend these guys at Penrith, they may be able to find you a BT unit.

Hi guys,
Just installed the latest bluetooth unit (7P6035730L) from carsystems.pl, everything is working perfectly except that the AVRCP isn't working as claimed and i've also lost my factory AUX function.
Does anyone have any ideas on this issue?
Thanks.
What phone/music app are you using?
Run a VCDS scan to check the AUX error + ensure AUX is enabled in the HU Settings (try turning the setting off and back on again)
Hi Ryan,
I'm using an iphone. I think the AUX issue has something to do with the wire loom. If i have the AUX plugged in I can hear the music in the right speaker for a split second, then nothing and it's continuously shaded out on the head unit.
Hoping that the AVRCP can be activated via coding, will have to find someone in the North Sydney area who can help me out.
Thanks for your help.
That's possible too. On my old 9W3 kit the loom didn't have all the wires needed but I've since upgraded to a 9W7 kit which did have them all, plus I changed the order of the piggy back looms (I have one for MDI and for BT). If it is a wiring issue you should have an error show up in a VCDS scan.
Post in the VCDS forums to see if any Sydneysiders can help.
Had my Mark 6 GTI for about 18 months and no real issues with the bluetooth until the last week.
I used to be able to press the phone button on the steering wheel and it took me straight to the phone menu on the MFD, now it just does nothing. Unless I hold it down it then dials the last dialed number.
I also like to drive with my MFD on the number of minutes i've been driving for (one of the options on MFD) but noticed that it kept change itself to the phone menu showing my signal/battery/phone name etc... I'd change it back to the minutes option and then a few seconds to a few minutes later it would switch to the phone option again... I think I've figure out it's swapping when the signal on my phone changes, ie increases from 3 to 4 bars, or say decreases from 5 to 4 bars.. i watch my phone, see the signal change and within about 2 seconds the MFD changes back to phone.
I tried reset factory settings on the MFD yesterday but it hasn't made any difference.
I've also noticed that it's not connecting sometimes when i get int he car, i have to click connect. It's also disconnecting sometimes. I've deleted the pairing with my phone and recreated it but that hasn't helped.
My phone is an iPhone 5 with iOS6.0.1 but i've had the iPhone 5 since it came out a few months ago and been running iOS6.0.1 for a few weeks, this issue only started happening last week.
If it was just a disconnecting issue i could see it being the phones fault, but the fact my MFD keeps switching back to the phone menu (when the signal is changing) I'm leaning more towards it being a car/bluetooth issue but nothings changed on that side...
Anyone got any ideas?
I had a similar but not identical problem with my MK6 GTD. It was impossible to activate the phone from either the touchscreen or the button on the steering wheel and the telephone had disappeared from the MFD completely. A quick diagnostic on the dealers computer resolved the problem. Was a very quick fix. Hope this helps.
