Got my GTI about 4 weeks ago, dont have a good idea of how bluetooth works with audio. I have the phone set up fine as phone, but can not stream audio - checked that the audio bluetooth box is ticked etc yet no dice.

Do I have to have a seperate bluetooth box installed for audio play back? (I heard there is a box under drivers seat). What is A2DP, I have that switched on also. Any advice or step by step guide would be helpful!

    Thanks.

    Oh its a 2010 Golf GTI, RCD510.

What phone is it? On the RCD510 Media screen are you able to select the Bluetooth input? Should start playing music straight away once you select that, or perhaps with your phone you have to start playing something on the device...

2010 GTI wouldn't have the latest bluetooth though, could be a slight chance that your one doesn't have A2DP (9W3). Easiest way to check is to locate the BT module and take a photo of it for us to check the part number.

Tried it with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy SIII. There is a bluetooth option in the media tab but it cant be selected (greyed out). Tried playing a song first through the iPhone and still no luck.

There is definitely an A2DP option on the MDI screen and that is ticked. Is the module underneath drivers seat?

Should be under the seat, also a chance it's behind the A/C controls.

Pretty sure you can get that icon to appear regardless of having the ability via an option in your HU (under Setup)

    Hello,
I read throw this thread and wanted to share my issues.
    I have a European golf tdi 2010 4 motion with an RCD 510 (rev A i think)
I did install a 9w7 K revision i bought in Spain last month..
I used vcds to set it up and it works just fine except that i cannot hear people talking to me (There is sound but extremely weak) . I can dial, i can talk to them (They can hear me well), i can do everything. However very very low sound volume. I checked the volume button, try to increase the telephone base volume using vcds and played around with what i could.
A2dp works great but only on the left speakers (front and back) and sounds is very good for it...
So why would A2dp works fine from phone while i can barely hear people when they speak?
I read the entire Internet and found nobody with the same issue
    any idea?
By the way, for those who has the bluetooth audio option grayed out, you need to start music on your phone then it will be available. After you select it, the sound will be transferred to to the speakers
    Thank you
    Best from Norway
    Cedric

    Hi Cedric
I suspect your wiring may be incorrect at pins 5&6 and 11&12 in the green plug that goes into the back of the radio. The fact that your your a2dp only works on the left speaker only tells me there is something wrong there. Secondly i read in another forum/thread incoming calls I think are only played through the front speakers only.

Did your kit come with an option to wire up the loom for the voice control option that is offered on some of the rns510 navi units? If so double check the wiring is correctly joined up

Hello i will check it. I succeded to make the voice control to work and same isue, the voice is very weak and i can barely hear it... Could you eloborate the ""loom" stuff you are mentionning. Might be my english. I got a passthrough cable that has 2 unused connectors. by reading things out there, it is only for connecting to an RNS510 if you want voice control. so are you saying i should connect the 2 unused connector together?
    Thanks you for your understanding
    Best

    Hey guys,

I have a Mark V Golf GTI and would like to have Bluetooth available. I've got the stock standard media unit - What is the best way to get the integrated Bluetooth installed on my car? Run it past a dealer and ask how much it would be?

    Thanks.

Re: BlueTooth related questions (all BT questions go in this thread only)

Get a 9wz unit online and install it. Either carsystems.pl or eBay seller bluwagen.
