Bluetooth mutes anytime I touch the phone

2009 GTI with Fiscon handsfree module w VW touch screen. Does anyone know how to stop the system muting when you touch the phone (iPhone). I'm not one of those who checks texts while driving however I have had quick peak to see if I've missed a call or calendar invite while not driving, at a stop light. If you look at a text, calendar, or touch anything it mutes whatever is playing on the stereo. Does anyone know how to turn that off?

Isnt it supposed to do that so you can talk on the phone.

Surely your phone would tell you if you have a call or a text without having to look at it all the time.

Dont let a cop see you touch it even at the lights its still illegal and mostly not really necessary so that it cant wait till end of journey, surely.
