Bluetooth in mk5 MY08 Golf GTI

Hi,

Hoping to confirm my research and that the following is accurate. I have a 2008 MY08 Golf GTI, red full height MFD.

I've swapped out the stock RCD500 mp3 head unit for a RCD510, no vagcom programming required - it worked out of the box quite nicely.

My next task is to add Bluetooth - the car came without any bluetooth standard (also no MDI).

It looks like my way forward is to:
1) Purchase the 9w7 version B bluetooth module (version c and above will not work with the red MFD in mthe mk5?)
2) Retrofit this in the mk5.

Has anyone done this before? How easy is it to retrofit the bluetooth into the mk5? I assume I am looking at running long lengths of cables up to somewhere to mount the mic?

Alternatively am I better off going with a FISCON unit?
