    AVC9000-1 Change of Look

Could the guys who own this particular satnav unit offer advice to me on how to change the screen look. EG the Radio looks daggy etc, I have the sound tweaked beaut, it really has a great sound, better than my original RCD500 6 disk mp3 player sounded but just looks ordinary. Anyone will to share some secrets to setup would be appreciated. Thanks Nath.

PS I notice there are a few people on this site Pro RNS510 & Negative AVC9000-1, you know who you are & we know who you are, so could you kindly keep your useless comments to yourselves. I cannot afford an RNS510 & wont be buying one. Thanks.

Go to golfmkv.com and read the threads there on the W6050 as it covers all of what you want to do in detail. In particular the W6050 thread started by baz.

Hmm, I have a few different designs for mine but rather not get mixed up in any bunfights with new members thanks.
As Mav said, go to mkV forums and all is revealed.
In passing, I love the AVC in my GTI but the latest version falls way below the standard of the original version which I have in my Caddy... Shame that...

There is a 231 page thread on this unit, i'm sure you'll find all the answers in there (or just post the question). You would get a lot more help there.

The RNS is a great unit, it's true. People are only trying to help save others the frustration but may as well say nothing and let them try out the crappy units before getting an RNS-510 a year later. I've tested a few after market units and found them not to be worthwhile and not that much cheaper either but YMMV.
