I thought manual referred to the fact you had to have the switch set to L before it would dip when you put the car in reverse, where as automatic would always dip.
But that was in the instructions of the polar fis guys and clear English is not one of their strong points

Also how does that person have 6 parameters on one page? Don't tell me there's already another update
So what does Mirror dipping options Manual and Automatic really mean?
I already have factory mirror dipping so I don't use the FIS option.

((o)(O))====(\X/)=TDI=((O)(o)) 1996 Golf Mk3 TDI - Squid
Yeah that's my understanding (see my post above) but I could not get the mirror dipping to work.
Spying in tigger's thread on the AP forums they've confirmed that this should work for all cars that support the FIS regardless of what in-car hardware they're missing, so I guess I'll have to give this another go.
OK here's a short video off my phone showing set-up of mirror dipping feature on AutoPolar FIS+ Advanced.
The key thing that I think a lot of people get wrong is selecting the mirror positions before selecting either manual or auto. If the mirror dipping is set "OFF" then selecting the positions has no effect. First select "manual" or "auto" and second step is to set the "normal/driving" and "parking/reversing" positions.
I got this working for the left mirror, but found I had to swap to select right mirror on the selector knob to get dipping on the left mirror after restarting the car. I think this is a special RHD "feature" that will need to get fixed in a future firmware release.
There's also a function to get both mirrors working at the same time - if you select right both will move, but if you select left then only left moves. That's one of the other options in the mirror menu.
I haven't tried to get mirror dipping working on both mirrors at the same time - not that important for me but can understand reversing down a drive this would be good to have.
