I posted in the Polo forum, but may as well repeat here to keep the thread active!

I fitted a Kenwood DDX-5036 2-DIN unit last week to my 2006 Polo GTI:

Sorry for the dim photos - the sun was too bright to see the screen so had to put the sunshield up!

Did it all myself, used an ISO connector and removed the pins, plugged the individual pins into the VW connector and it works! Just waiting for an antenna adapter from the UK.

Here's mine, all work done by myself and tryed to keep it on a budget. Before the 0 guage, dynamat and alternator it did a 137db on a termlab playing music. That was about 11-12v . Currently holds at 14.5v on idle.
Mostly Jaycar response gear, speakers are the higher end PMI Kevlar splits that really blew me away.
4x100wrms to the speakers
1x1000wrms to the Soundstream T5 12.
Box is 1.75cuft tuned to 37hz covered with an inch of furniture foam and then skinned in suede.
Dynamat throughout
0 guage
Big 3 upgraded
100amp Volvo alternator
Alpine IVAD105e
Optima D34 yellowtop
Custom rear quarter panels
Custom volt digital gauge and switched for amps
Door pockets are off an unknown car but modded to fit
Electric windows with auto window up, 2 way paging alarm, curtest light and other nifty bits and bobs.

The mono block will be upgraded to a 1200wrms Hifonics Brutus as will a few other things.

Seeing your engine bay reminds me of my Mk I Scirocco! 1588cc, 85 hp. Great car!

Jl Two ways back doors...yet to change front speakers
Crossfire 250rms two way amp running back speakers.
All my amps are hidden A must when I install my stereos.

Also have two 9inch LCD sunvisor Tvs,They will go in when I can be fkd.
