    Thanks
No it will continue to use RCA connector so that it is more compatible with aftermarket cameras. If you ask me 26pin RGB for a camera is ridiculous - connectors like FAKRA make sense because of quality but the RGB connector does not. Audiosources have had a 26-pin to RCA converter module for some time now though, so you can connect your factory camera to the ANS / DNS units.

    Good afternoon all,

I'm a happy user of an ANS-510 device, I've been using it 6 months ago more or less.
However, I'm struggling like other forum members to install my rear view camera... ANS-510 won't change its view when I engage reverse gear. After reading the whole thread, I've two questions to launch here, in order to see if the community can help me a little bit

    * I'm trying to install it on an European Golf MkV. The camera has two cables: RCA video and power input. Do I need to connect any "reverse signal cable" from the car to ANS-510? Or maybe it just gets the CanBus signal? The device shows open doors, so I guess CanBus is working right.

    * Another question... Should I check for newer firmware for my device? I have read something about this in the thread, but I'm not completely sure! Here are the details for my device:

    - BSP: ANS510AS.610
    - MPU: ANS510AS.V82
    - MCU: ANS510AS.120817.v1.T0
    - BT: 20111115
    - MST701: 6.2.00

Any help will be REALLY appreciated!!

Thanks in advance & kind regards,

    David

Will the new DNS series also include a RCA break-out connectors for connecting the system to an aftermarket amplifier?

Any chance the DNS would be able to integrate the OEM bluetooth modules?
That would be freaken awesome. Would be able to use the proper external mic and make swapping out an RNS with a new DNS a compelling upgrade...

You need to connect the red power wire to ACC and connect it to your reverse light with a relay.

To make use of the CAN-Bus reverse signal and avoid tapping your reverse light, you need an additional wire from the USB / iPod connector (your older unit will not have it and you would need to solder this in yourself). This wire needs to be in the pin marked "rev" on the pin diagram on top of your unit.

V version firmware is up to V95, but this has no effect on your reverse camera.

Yes - they considered going full OEM style with the rear connections (i.e. no RCA connections) but I convinced them that would actually be a backward step

I raised this with them some time ago but since they have always had their own BT that most people were happy with, and now that they are going to do searchable phonebook and look into MFD integration, I don't think they're seeing too much value in this atm.

Thanks for the info, DkN!! It's the most relevant clue since I started looking for information on forums

I would like to make sure I have understood your answer, so here is another question: let's say I've added this new cable to the Ipod/USB connector. I guess it would receive +12V when reverse gear is engaged (signal to ANS in order to change to rear view). Am I right? If so, where can I get this signal from? Maybe CECM-J519 module?

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it

You are correct, but you don't need to get it from anywhere, just add a wire in there. However I need to double check if this has been implemented in V version units (they run slightly older hardware than the M version and require different firmware). If all is well you don't need to do anything else but connect your RVC's power to it, the unit will send power to that pin only in reverse.

Thank you DkN, I'll give it a try in the next days and write down the results here (maybe other forum members can use this information).

My first setup was connecting the camera feed input to a direct +12V source (so it was always fed), and video RCA to ANS-510 CAM-IN RCA input. This setup worked using my TV as ouput (also checked that camera was working), but ANS-510 didn't show anything engaging reverse...!

Hi, I have a Skoda Octavia MY12 with Swing Radio unit. This looks to be a different shape than the RNS-510 / ANS-510 etc units. Also my car has manual AC controls. Are you able to confirm the ANS-510 (and future DNS-610 more likely) will fit and integrate properly, including factory rear parking sensors?
Would I need to replace the fascia with something like this:
Octavia II 09- Facelift w/NAVI- dashboard plate MANUAL clima - ALUMINIUM : superskoda.com
And does anyone know where I could obtain this fascia locally and/or cheaper? Thanks.

I think you're talking about this shape, am I right?

This unit will also be available together with the others when the new platform is released. But, there's also nothing wrong with using a dash kit to fit a standard ANS-510 / 810 shape, which is compatible with more cars - it's up to you.

The current ANS series units already integrate fully with factory reverse sensors. the new platform will have full 360 degree sensor integration, which will later also be brought over to the old platform.
