Hello everyone, I want to show you a few videos in which I have taken the bag of my ans 810. sorry for my poor english
On the first video as you can see if you have a door open on the screen you see the indication of the door open if you press the button to leave this screen when you close the door again comes the screen with the car with the doors closed and does not disappear until do not press the button to leave this screen, for me this is a bag, the screen should go away on its own after a while.
in the next video you can see that the radio does not work well:
- Loses the frequency when makes into research of the Alternative Frequency
- selecting one of the channels from 2 - 5 positions itself on the first chanale
- changing from Fm1 to Fm2, Fm3, Am not change the names of the stations, sometimes I find the names of the Fm3 on the Am or only freq. when i go from Am to Fm1.
some of you have these errors?
now I show you another radio or maybe just a new version of firmware ans810, I found the video and photos on the Internet.
watch this photo and video and observe the difference with our ans810
in the menu folder(usb/sd/disc…) there is a button "up folder" , i think it's very useful
on the radio, you can immediately see the name of the found station also you can see PTY
and the video
what you think?
Both the door close and radio issues should not happen any more since newer firmware had been released, you just need an update.
Regarding the video, that is a different company, I have come across them before, it is in fact started by a previous employee of Audiosources who took the software with him from an early stage when he left. That's why the overall look is similar but there is a fork in design. You'll notice many limitation too, such as not being able to display reverse sensors at the same time as camera. The up button I already suggested to my technician and it's not hard to implement at all, they just need to get around to it, obviously they have their own plans and schedule. And the PTY display, well what use does it serve? Many design elements in their unit also strays from the RNS look so it detracts from the OEM experience, like the way the SD looks.
So to clarify this is actually a different company, different unit, with somewhat questionable employee ethicsI cannot help you if you go for this unit, you would be on your own. Pricing is similar to the ANS I believe, I am not certain about the hardware they use.

AFAIK boost and timing pull information are located in the Engine-Bus and not CAN-Bus. This requires a connection to the OBD2 port. The actual data block for things like boost may also vary between petrol and diesels, I'm not 100% certain, but it is something that a CAN-Bus system is unlikely to achieve. I have not received specific information on the module yet but I don't think it is an OBD2 connection one, so it leaves your OBD2 port free. Even if it was an OBD2 module, it needs to connect to the Engine-Bus and it takes significant R&D to get the readings right like VCDS does. So for the more critical functions like boost monitoring and other diagnostics you can't really expect something like this to replace the VCDS.
