That happens on cd, USB, iPod and sd between tracks. It seems like the unit plays every track as though it was the only thing it's playing rather than as part of a bigger context eg an album or playlist. So any live albums stop playing track one, then pause then fade up into track 2.

It is a tad annoying I agree.

Hello all, sorry for my poor English. I'm from Italy, I read this thred last two months and I have decided and I bought the version ANS810 for my Passat 2008. I installed it, but I found two problems:

    1. When I set the language in the menu in Italian the entire menu remains in English, if I try with other languages, everything changes for example German or French. If anyone can check also kept on his radio if you set the Italian language, or this is just my problem. I would be very grateful.

    2. I can not see the screen with Parking sensors, when they are activated. Maybe i need to change the model of CAN in the menu and the model of the car, but which to choose? Quest last question and more for DKN.thanks

If it has a GPS SD, grab it out and delete / rename the folder in it called "save". It could be in the root directory or maybe they put the map software in a folder e.g. "igo8", but it sits in the root directory of the GPS software. Getting rid of the save folder will reset all the settings in iGo8.

I posted in the group buy thread but I guess not many people are taking notice of it anymore, there is a delay with the unit for about 2-3 days so at this stage delivery looks to be around the 21st, with a chance of it being Monday 24th depending on how fast they get to me and how far you are from Brisbane.

I will take a look at the Italian menu.

With the parking sensors, did you install them yourself? Are they just PDC (sensors by themselves) or OPS (which has a separate module that allows optical display)?

The CAN-Bus select doesn't do anything, they use specific CAN-Bus hardware for specific car models for better integration, there is no longer a fit-all decoder. Therefore you can ignore that setting.

Thank you very much for your reply DKN. Parking sensors are original from VW.
You can watch this video so you know what maybe the problem?

It posibile some error in firmware? Dkn, how can I see what version of firmware installed. Possibly you could help me and send me an update for the firmware? Thanks

Interesting that the music stops when you put the roof up or down - what happens on the screen? I wasn't aware that would even affect the operation of the unit. Crazy convertibles
Well i just think the volume muting is strange because you might reverse in (music stops), go forward a bit (music comes back on), go back (turns off), then finally park.. half volume though is a very nice idea...

And yeah it comes on when opening/closing roof because of the reverse sensors.. these enable to make sure nothing is behind you when operating the roof... the unit shows it as being the boot open, which indeed it is, and yeah the music will then turn off.....

Took it all apart again and found that the gps cable was slightly loose. Tightened it up with some pliers. While I was at it, I thought I would try the plastic cover in the glovebox again. Couldn't get my hand around the back to push it out so I got a knife and tried to maneuver it from behind so I could push the cover off. Needless to say, I now have a lost knife somewhere inside the centre console. God knows what the consequences will be (rattling, short circuit etc).
I then got a small watch makers screw driver and managed to jimmy the cover out from the front. Honestly VW, what's the point of having a removable plastic cover that is so hard to remove? Anyways, I managed to get the usb cable from the console through the opening and into the glove compartment. The ipod cable was to short to do the same, but since I'm not an Isheep person, I don't care. EDIT - Just realised there is an ipod cable I didn't connect. Oh well.
    Thanks gviddy for the tip.
Hey thats great that you fed it into the glove box.. pity you didnt see the extra ipod cable.. i dont use Apple either but its handy having them both in the glove box and if the car is sold at a later date can say there is ipod connection in the glove box... although they need a new adaptor now dont they....

I must have used my screwdriver to pop out the plastic, as yeah couldnt be possible to get my arm all the way around.. i had a very long screw driver with me... sucks you dropped your knife.....

It's easy enough to find your current version, just go to the Aux in screen like you did in the video but press and hold the middle of the bottom of the screen. It should be current though, Audiosources have been working on the latest firmware for a while with some big updates so there hasn't been new firmware for maybe a month or so.

You still did not indicate if you have factory PDC or OPS? Only OPS can show reverse sensors on the headunit. And if you have also OEM reverse camera, you need an additional module to convert the signal to RCA.

I can confirm Italian menu is actually in English, it's just an oversight and I have reported it, should be a very easy fix.

Ok, maybe a little clarification on this is needed.

On my MY11 Caddy Maxi Life, the RCD-310 has both Optical Parking System (OPS) and Park Distance Warning System.

The RCD-310 has a monochrome display and when reverse is selected, the volume is reduced and the RCD-310 display shows a plan representation of the Caddy and then each of the 4 sensors which trigger do so with the display showing in which zone the particular sensor is triggering.

At the same time, the Parking Distance Warning System indicates which zone has been triggered with a beep, and the beeping becoming more rapid as the zone gets closer to the back of the vehicle. The Parking Distance Warning System can be muted on the steering wheel.

Mine was factory fitted, so I take it that this should be ok with the ANS-610?

Yes yours would be fine, retrofits would be fine too if properly coded, provided it was OPS which is an additional module, not just the PDC (Park Distance Control). I was referring to the Italian user who was having issues with his. The ANS is able to show the OPS info graphically with separate sensor zones, I think the second video in the first post shows this.
