Just a quick message to thank DKN for his all round expertise and support with the 510/810 unit, despite being based in the UK he's helped me out tremendously with some of the features my local dealer had no knowledge of. I can highly recommend DKN, pleasure to deal with, now very happy with my 810 skoda themed unit.

Have bought ANS810 from Sandy, who has been very professional and helpful in all communications.

Installed it this weekend, sat nav is easy & great, BT needs a better way thru address book, CD's and FM work fine, unlike some other buyers the AM works well for me (tho' not as clear as FM, but certainly o.k for sports broadcasts.)

Looking forward to learning more about unit as days go by.

    Cheers,

    John

    Thanks for the good word.

Glad you like it, and BT address book fix is coming in a week or so

Understand there is a Bluetooth fix on the way to fix the phonebook ordering, in the meantime it appears my phonebook does not update, either when adding new contacts or pairing a different phone,is there a way to force a phonebook re-download as per when the unit is first pairedwith a phone?

Yes this is because the phonebook is downloaded on the unit and thereafter accessed from the unit itself. To manually re-download the phonebook, go into the phonebook and at the top right there is a button with a down arrow.

Hi Sandy, thanks for the info, I actually tried that a few times this afternoon and nothing seems to happen, should I expect to see something on screen as I can remember the 'Downloading Phonebook' message when first configuring the unit. Will try the download button again when I leave work in a bit.

    Cheers

I just tried on my unit mate, when you press the down arrow it re-downloads the phonebook. A message in a black box at the top appears saying "downloading phonebook 5" and changes up in increments of 5 as it downloads. When it finishes re-downloading the phonebook swipes itself to the left and shows you the re-downloaded phonebook.

Yes there are line level outputs for all speakers and sub for a proper setup. I've not done any aftermarket audio upgrades myself so you could get more information if you message whiskywallah, he has an aftermarket amp and sub running with an ANS-810 with no hassles.

The price is $640 shipped within Australia including GPS software + maps etc.

The unit plays DVDs and CDs and also takes SD cards, USB and iPod / iPhone.

There is no PIP function - do you really want to be watching DVD with the GPS on while driving? Seems like a bit of a gimmick if not a safety hazard. The unit will allow a second source to be running in the background while running navigation though, so you could listen to the audio from the DVD.

It is plug and play so yes just remove old unit and plug in new one.
