might have to leave blue tooth for now, but that is still a lot more than I wanted to pay
So do you yourself a favour and get a Version B with lower firmware. I got mine for just over $700 with delivery. Find an ebay ad with "make an offer" and ask the seller. He'll be more likely to agree if its a Version B. The C's are still pricey.

The B version has a limitation on the firmware it will upgrade to, this will put limits on SD card size and probably other things, I'm not too sure off the top of my head. The other benefit of the C version is that the LED screen is available and it has the voice control option. I personally haven't used a non LED version, but I have heard that they can be hard to see in direct sunlight. I don't get that problem. For an extra couple of hundred dollars now you will be much happier long term. I got mine for under $1000 with one of the make an offer auctions, just be patient and look at what's on offer. also, make sure you get one with Australian maps, and you will need an antenna adapter to make the plugs fit.
