    Amps for front speakers

    Hi guys

I'm not considering this yet but would like to know your inputs into the matter.

I plan to put in an external amp for my front splits (woofer+tweeter). They are aftermarket Clarions running off a low-end Clarion head-unit so I suppose they're underpowered at the moment. What kind of amp should I look into? I am considering looking into rear speakers too, so it must be able to run those as well. However, I am not considering a subwoofer in the future at all. I'm thinking of sticking with the Clarion name for consistency's sake. Would this be a good idea in the case of amps?

Also, in a Mk3, where could I place it?

Any help would be gladly appreciated

    Cheers.

the clarion at $299, or the jaycar @$299.
    The clarion is 60w rms x 4
the jaycar is 130w rms x4

The jaycar one is physicaly huge though.

The pricing is certainly within reach.

With the power output, would there be any downsides in overpowering speakers?

power is good. power is your friend.

a high powered amp will alow you to run lower gains on the amp, and therefore make cleaner power.

Sounds like Jaycar hits the money, though admittedly, I'm a sucker for image and brand names But I definitely wouldn't want to sacrifice quality for that. Cheers for the advice! Best place to get Jaycar stuff?
