    Aftermarket stereo integration kit

Anyone know the best place to get an integration kit for a aftermarket stereo? I found this one by PAC which I can get off eBay for about $100 which seems OK. Any thoughts?

I will also need a fascia kit, anyone know which ones look best? Getting a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT if it matters (the US version of the AVH-P3250BT).

Facia kit is easy, the Alpine VW facia is by far the best I have come across. It uses the same soft touch rubber as the factory dash surround. Here is a picture of the unit I installed into my Mk6 GTI yesterday: Dash pic

In regards to interfacing, just be careful with overseas integration parts, many that I have tried did not work correctly or caused a few odd problems. I ended up sourcing mine from an Australian supplier for $225.

Let me know how you go with the PAC system, I'm curious to know if it works correctly. What car do you have?

Would the Alpine facia fit a Pioneer deck though? Where did you buy it from?

Mk5 Golf GT Sport TDI. Another posibility is the Connects2 CTSVW002 steering wheel adaptor (eBay $70) and CT23VW01A facia kit (eBay $70). I'm not sure if I also need another bit of Connects2 CAN-BUS kit to hook the stereo up. Its quite confusing figuring out what you actually need.

Yes, the Alpine kit will work with any double din sized unit. You can buy it from any Alpine dealer, PM if you need one. The connects2 facia isnt too bad, but its just plastic and doesnt look as nice as the alpine.

The connects 2 steering can bus kit is what I used on my car, the only other part you need is the fakra antenna adapter for your car.

if you need any other info let me know.

Is the Connects2 part number that you used CTSVW002? That connects into the head unit and into the CAN-BUS directly?

I just realised that the PAC C2R-VW2 just hooks the actual stereo up, you need a SWI-PS for the steering wheel controls and the SWI-CAN to convert the output of the SWI-PS to CAN-BUS. As far as I can tell anyway... They dont put a whole bloody lot of details on their websites.

    Edit:
Yes! Found some decent info - http://www.golfmk5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67628
    Summary -
The PAC unit requires 3 parts as I mentioned above.
The Connects2 CTSVW002 is all you need (plus the wiring adaptor for your model stereo) and it is smaller and cheaper.

The connects2 kit is far easier to use, 1 item that does everything. Its the best choice right now.
