    From what you've described it sounds like the radio is losing +12v battery voltage.

    When you wired it up you need to give it constant +12v from the wiring loom and ACC signal for the ignition switch which triggers the head unit to resume previous state or wake-up. From experience I'd say this could very well be your issue.

    Normally the red and yellow wires on a standard unit Swap them over and I bet it will work

    As has been said it does sound like your head unit isn't getting a constant 12V. Did you check the lines with a multimeter before install to be sure?

    Just for anyone that reads this post, it was the old red wire yellow wire mix up.
