Advice on Golf Stereo/DVD/Nav system

I purchased a 2006 TDI Golf but the stereo had been removed (due to religious beliefs). I would like to fit a stereo and have found DVD/Stereo/Nav/GPS all in one entertainment unit problem is it is in the US. Does anyone know if I can get the same unit in Australia and if it is fairly straight forward to fit. Also will all the items work and work with the steering wheel controls. The steering wheel has volume control and a button to answer the phone. Any advise?
