I hear what you're saying by way of getting 4.5v with the ignition on and ~11.5v with it off, though that's the readings I'm getting straight from the factory loom. I also tried earthing it elsewhere on the chassis rather than through the earth on the wiring loom and get the same readings. And is also consistent with the constant 12v.

I may take a video tomorrow to show whats going on (somewhat of proof of my WTF moment), though will also be going to my local audio installer to sort it. I've tried, failed, now let someone who knows it to sort it.

    Lol, yup almost.

So I've sorted it myself. I'm still at a loss with that wire that gave the "accessories" power off reading. I found the proper accessories wire, rewired it into the pioneer harness and now all sweet.

In short, my mistake was relying on the ANS loom having the same wiring configuration as the Pioneer. The factory loom has 6 wires, but 5 exiting from the ANS hub. The ANS unit used the funny accessories arrangement, the proper accessories goes into the loom, but is blanked off from the ANS unit.

Lesson learnt - don't assume, always run it back to the factory loom, though I thought I'd done that many a times prior. I'm still baffled as to the funny accessories arrangement and the resulting voltage.

Don, thanks for providing input trying to help me out. Cheers.
