Polo 2006 stereo head to RCD510?

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if its possible to install the RCD510 on 2006 model Polos? Has anyone successfully done this/how much was it/is it worth it? Not keen to invest in those stupid fm transmitter things for the ipod, and would like to have sat nav handy. Alternatively, best value/best fitting touch screen head unit for the 9N polos?

    Thanks!

RCD 510 doesn't have iPod integration or satnav for a start, I think you're confused with the RNS 510 unit.

If the 9N has a double din recess then aside from being able to code it into the system, the only other hurdle would be plugging it all in...

Different shape won't fit without mods.

As R1 said, they are a very different looking head unit. RCD510 (and RNS510) have a fitted, round head unit slot whereas the 9N3 uses a standard double din config - you are better off going down to your local car radio place and choosing what you like and getting a harness adapter.
You could also get more functionality out of a single din unit and dash pocket (from the dash pocket alone me thinks)
