2009 r32 radio upgrade

My son just upgraded the radio in his mark 6 gti to a RCD330 plus can this model be installed in my 2009 r32 if so is there someone in inner west Sydney that can do this, I would appreciate your feedback on this thankyou

First things first you want to check on the CANBUS module and if it will have battery drain issues.

As for install, I believe the RCD330 is plug and play, pop the trim, four screws and away you go without needing anything coded otherwise... if you wanted to give it a bash yourself.

easy way to confirm CANBUS version is - does the R32 have a full height MFD display, or is it a half height version.
Full height is CANBUS V2 - no battery drain issues.
Half Height MFD will be CANBUS V1.6 (?) which is known for not shutting the RCD down completely when the car is switched off (even locked). Update is fairly straight fwd...just need to find the CANBUS module (look up from the drivers footwell) - OR - it may behind the panel in the engine bay (just near the wiper drive shaft - drivers side).
*Fingers crossed you have V2. Being a 2009 model....almost guaranteed
