2-DIN navigation/stereo Suggestion and LCD problem

    Hi all,

Was looking at replacing the stock radio in my bora as it doesn't have ipod connectivity and newer stock radios apparently can't be fitted. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for radios. I was looking at the double din headunits as i find them nicer and as it can easily fit. Was also thinking of one with navigation allthough thats not really important as i never really have a problem with getting around. Any suggestions are kindly appreciated.

Also the LCD trip computer is playing up on me at the moment. The dealers is going to have a look at it but he said he might not be able to fix it. It seems to during the day start to fade around the outside of the screen. Gets worse with time driving and time of the day and isn't affected by turning the lights on, however during nighttime its completly fine and never has a problem. Anyone know what it might be or how much a replacement LCD will cost?

Also is the Trip computer suppose to reset every trip and is there a way to get the fuel consumption for the tripmeter so i know the average consumption everytime i refuel?

    Cheers all

Can't help with the fading screen but i do know that Zenec make a oem look unit with sat nav and bluetooth built in that is a direct fir for the mk4 golf/bora.

Might pay to look it up - ZE-NC2040.

I recently installed a Kenwood double din unit into my Multivan. It works fantastically well. The Sat Nav part is Garmin software, so it's the same as my hand held unit in use. This model also has Bluetooth, which I find invaluable, and Ipod connectivity.
The only issue I have is the AM reception is very poor - evidently due to the VW antenna requiring power, which the Kenwood is not able to provide.
