    VW 505 01 Engine Oil

The following Engine Oils meet the VW 505 01 Specification:

    Mobil Synt S Special V 5W-40

Mobil Synt S Special V 5W-40 is a high performance diesel engine oil using a synthetic based formulation. It is primarily intended for use in Volkswagen pump-jerk diesel engines where an oil approved by Volkswagen to their specification VW 505 01 is required. These engines are filled on production with an oil of this quality.

This is the only oil I have found so far to meet this spec in Australia. I will continue my research.

I have read the name before but have never seen any of their oils in Australian shops.

I will do some more research.

I am looking for oils meeting the VW 507.00 spec for our 2007 VW Caddy.

    It's a specification not a brand.

    I have tried
This true as I've been through the same scenario with my bro's GTI.
Apparentely VW has a deal with Shell oil now as that's what I've been told by my friend at VW.
Obviously Shell made a better offer. This happened to BMW awhile ago when they converted to Castrol from Mobil & all the product's had to be replaced.

I your after info on what oil to use, check here in the lube section. These are all for the Mk5 GTI

Yes, but for diesel engines there aren't any oils with same specs that you can find in retail shops.
You can buy it from a dealer for around $25.00/L. but for topping up purposes you can use fully synthetic 5W-30 or 0W-30
