Redline gear oil lifetime... years or kms?

At best estimate the redline MT90 in my 02M box has approx 15000km's on it but is also just over 2 years old. Given the box is a sealed unit does MTF degrade enough over time to warrant a change or is it purely based on kms?

I know the whole vw lifetime crap and dont buy it, also dont buy into the 100000km's deal... so curious about the product life of this stuff, it is expensive and a gallon bottle from autobarn will set me back about $150 but is more than enough for a full change.

I was Amsoil dealer for some time and know that the Amsoil sysnthetic gear oil is capable of 300,000km. As for the time factor in that, the synthetic gear lubes in some cars are 8 years life. I would change it at 4years.
