    Fuel saver free trial

Check out this link below for people in Sydney.
This is a new fuel saver device which will be fitted free for a trial period of
3 months, it was in todays Sydney paper not as an advertisement but an article
from a reporter. For petrol and diesel.
They are asking for people to register there interest.
Not sure if its just away to get you to buy the product if you don't get
    the free trial device.
Anyway I have registered for the Jetta Diesel and will let you know if I get in.

I question the effectiveness of these products. I personally wouldnt use my car to run trials.

You could get more info about a car by reading the brochure than you will get from newspaper motoring reporters.

Oh dear. Another one. Still, there's plenty of money to fleece off suckers without any grounding in basic physics or chemistry before you get caught and go cough-cough bankrupt and disappear.

Oh dear, oh dear - from the website:

" The Moletech Fuel Saver has the ability to change three areas within the spectrum of gasoline by absorbing the CH (Benzene) of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon. According to the university research papers, the ceramics absorb the thermal energy from their surrounding environment then release it in a specific wavelength, breaking the intermolecular van der Waals force (the force that binds molecules) between the gasoline molecules. This results in the change of aggregation of gasoline molecules from 'cluster' to 'single molecule'. This changes several properties of the gasoline, such as surface tension and flash point. The surface tension is decreased, resulting in better atomization (smaller droplets) of the fuel, which provides a greater surface area to make contact with air, leading to far greater fuel efficiency. This in turn increases horsepower, reduces fuel consumption, reduces carbon build-up and reduces toxic and greenhouse exhaust emissions."

What delightful gibberish. Let's forward this to Dan Rutter and see what he comes up with.

    WTF IS THAT!

3 'sensors' not hooked up in any way (that I can see) are going to save you fuel?
    Check out the "installation guide".

Oh, and the under 3L petrol model is $299+ shipping

    CON!

Sounds even better than this one from ACA a little while ago:

I just love when she calls it a sauce packet

I've heard you can put fishing sinkers in your tank to turn unleaded fuel back into leaded fuel.

    What a Con!

Imagine having that useless chunk of whatever floating around in your tank. All it would probably do is stir up the crud on the bottom of your tank.

Besides everyone knows that Peter Brock Magnetic Fuel polarisers are the only thing that works.

    Have a look on e-bay.

Better yet, with all that fuel saving you could get 1,000,000KM's out of one tank! WOW!

Had an email from the company and surprise, surprise I did not get in.
However i can still get their product for a discount for a short period of time.
Normal price $399 and discounted price $349 and $40 to have it fitted.

Hopefully the newspaper will report back on the trial and we will see
if it is more snake oil.

Any anecdotal results will be fairly meaningless - it's just too hard to casually test something like this with any level of accuracy. Pointless following it any further, really.
