Hi all,

Thanks for your contribution. Just drove past a Shell (Yallambie) which went up to 163.5 - highest I've seen.

We're still lucky though. Was in Germany for a couple of days (literally!!) this week, and they're looking at about 1.40 Euro/liter which is just about $A 2.40.

Having said that, this recent steep increase for diesel does not seem to be justifiable compare to the development of petrol - just my $A 0.02!

People will be surprised, compared to other countries Aus isn't getting ripped (Even though we are! (Just less then other countries)). Just to compare Eastern European Countries are starting to pay close to $2.50-2.70AUD a Litre for Petrol ($1.00 Dearer then Aus.) Mainly due to exorbitant taxes placed on the price by the government. Around 20-30% of a months pay goes towards filling up the car.

Like all big companies food/electric//everything is getting more expensive just to feed the damn shareholders IE rich get richer & the poor get poorer. I could understand a price rise in fuel if it was getting scarse but there seems to be plenty around so WTF?

I note petrol price has been coming down steadily, but diesel is only coming down very slowly. Anyone know what price we are likely to see for diesel by Christmas?

(Will be filling up baby tomorrow for the first time since driving out of dealership 2 weeks ago! It's feels so long since I've been to a service station!)
