queensland the perfect place for an eos!

New member here in Sunny Queensland - the perfect state for the versatility of the Eos and its fancy-pants roof.....

I am expecting - Wheat-Beige Individual with Bi-Xenons with luggage and wind-breaker - should be beautiful - saw one spec'd with this combo at the dealers and had to have it!!

Build date to be June 18th..... expecting delivery late August-September....

Just need to get shares in the sunscreen company and keep an eye on how you all go - have read heaps on the vwvortex site and uk sites - lets hope that some of that is the vocal minority and that ours are all certainly later builds and therefore have lots of the bumps ironed out!!!

Look forward to lots of chat on this site. Does anyone have any photos of the Individual in anything other than the black - especially in the wheat-beige

regarding the 'gay' comment - a friend of mine decided that this was my married man's gay mid-life crisis until I pointed out that my wife will drive the eos the most and I will be relegated to the red fiat punto 1.9 diesel sport

Talking diesel - even fiat kicks arse!

Punto is brilliant - small, sharp, agile, corners like a gokart, and goes like the clappers with 280nM torque under 1100kgs - nearly as much oomph as the VW 2.0TDi (have golf 2.0TDi DSG Sportline) - and all for under $30k on the road.... - but will pale in comparison to the Eos

Hey all an update on my Eos and thanks to Peter for the heads up

    Build date - 22/03/07

    Booked for Shipping - 12/04/07

    Received for Shipping - 25/04/07

Shipping Date from Bremerhaven - 26/04/07

    Arrival Date Sydney - 06/06/07

Delivery Date - 18/06/07 Fingers Crossed

Would love to know why it took 1 month from build to shipping?

If this is standard I gues we can say the time from build to delivery in Australia is about 3 months then

For those of you interested in tracking a car for Australian Delivery the website of the Shipping Line is here and all you need is a VIN number -

Wow wait list for EOS is now 12 months according to Chatswood Classic Cars VW. Its like when the GTI came out.

Slitko - yours may come earlier than 7 months. When l ordered mine in mid march the dealer said delivery would be around late sept / early oct. Two weeks ago he rang to say production date has been brought forward and car now built and will take delivery around end of june /early july - 3 months earlier than planned.

Interesting to hear waiting period is 12 months. Dont think VW Aust will let that happen as they got bad publicity with the long waiting list for the golf gti.

I don't think it has anything to do with VW Australia. The same situation is being reflected in all the world markets. There is only one factory producing the Eos in Portugal and the car is in high demand worldwide.

I would suspect that for your build date to move forward that much there had been a cancellation of another order and yours happens to fit that slot. They haven't ramped up production to move you forward that much in the build process. But for you it is a total bonus

The dealer didnt give a reason for the early delivery. l suspected the reason was that given production runs for europe and north american were completed for their upcoming summer they decided to bring forward production for oz. Like you say a bonus for me so not complaining.

Given the production date for my car was mid april its possible its on the same boat as yours. Will get the VIN # from the dealer and check it out.
