    Question Tyre Noise

Has anyone had issues with tyre noise from the Continental Tyres that are fitted to my EOS. They are extremely noisy on smooth bitumen roads and as you slow down under brakes. Any suggestions?

    Regards

Not at all. The exact opposite. It's one of the quietest cars I've driven.

    Sorry I'm not much help.

    Hi Brooksi,

Given the relatively small number of Australian Eos owners who are sufficiently interested in getting involved with forum discussions, the response to your request may be under-whelming.

Suggest you should also lodge your request on the international Eos forum and I am certain you will get a number of responses from owners with the same tyres as you.

Hope this helps - waiting to see what tyres are on my partner's car when it is delivered.

    I've seen quite a few MK5 Golf's, Jetta's & some EOS' with this problem.

It's a normal trait of the Conti's unfortunately. They also like to go out of round on the back too!

    Noisy tyres

I have found that making sure your pressures are on the high side for a few months seems to get rid of the noise.... the noise mine started making at around 20,000kms was a whining noise loudest at certain speeds - this seems to have reduced after pumping my tyres up to 38PSI for a few thousand K's.... have 18"s......

Run your hand over the surface of the tyre. Is it knobbly? That is, are certain parts of the tread raised?
If so, then try roating the tyres front to back, and ensure you are not running low pressures.
