Pick up wifes new Eos on Thursday :-)

    Looking forward to it.
Already am armed with the Krytox in order to avoid drama with waterleak the day she picks up the car, as its raining in Sydney at present.
Found this forum while searching for Krytox and thought it would be great
to be in touch with other enthusiasts.

If you have purchased a MY09 Eos, there seems to be almost no problems with water leaks - regular Krytox applications are necessary as is ludricating the door seals as they can make some noise on rough roads if they are not lubricated.

Enjoy the Eos and you will certainly have many happy and memorable EDA's [Eos Driving Adventures].

    Thank you

Thanks for the welcome, and thank you Silvershadow for the ease of mind.
Yes I did buy an MY09 Eos from Denlo in Parra.
    It's a:
TDi, Auto, Opal silver, with black leather electric seats.
Had great offer upon which I improved greatly, thanks to having a cheque book handy

Wife has not driven it yet and is stepping out of a 3 year old Hyundai Getz.
Is she ever in for a surprise.
She gave me total trust in picking out a car for her ( colour options etc. ) and reckons anything has got be better than the Getz.....
It will be her car, but as you said, I will be the carer and occasional Sunday getaway driver. This is the first European car I have bought since 1994 when I go over my 5th ( yes five ) Volvo since 1971.

My daily driver ( company car ) is a 2007 VE Commodore SS, 6 spd man.,
Which has a tough life taking me to Whyalla, Roxby Downs and back once or twice a year. Thats the reason for a local car. Dont want to be in the outback with a European car waiting for road service
Happened in the Volvo a few times and dont want repeats of that drama.

Hope I can contribute towards the this forum in some way.

Gave Denlo Parra a cheque ( from big local bank ) for full amount 6 working days ago ( last Thursday morning ), cleared out of my account only yesterday, car still not available as of this morning.
Will pick it up Saturday now.
Guess if I had used finance company I would of had the car by now.
Overseas transactions don't take this long in my business.
    Unbelievable.
Maybe Inchcape use overseas banks for their transactions.

As you can tell I am really annoyed.

Uh,so you've paid in full but dont have the car?

    I'd be annoyed too.

I guess look at it this way: the delivery troubles will be worth it once you've got the car!

Normal practice here is to pay for the car on delivery with a bank cheque - I can certainly understand why the dealer has held up delivery if you paid with a personal or company cheque.

Too many opportunists with rubber cheques have made it difficult for the honest ones in our society.

Long forget the delay in cheque clearance and yes, I should of done EFT via my company on the day, or bank chequre, but just got a great deal by writing out a cheque on the spot.

    Eos is incredible.
Even keeping rpm below 3,800, it pulls a "little" bit like my V8, (well sort of).
Anyhow, nice to be back in a European car after 10 years with Holden.
Design, finish, and ease of use, is just so nice.

Missus has hardly driven it since I picked it up on Saturday morning.
So far have 300k's on the clock in City driving.
Thought I would at least give the motor some chance of running in correctly before she puts in D, and putters around. Told her this afternoon to use S and not D. Put a PostIt note on Tacho at 3,800 rpm and told her not to let the that little pointer go into that area or even touch the PostIt note. Hopefully it will work.
Seals where dry and very dirty, ( especially the front and rear window ones looked as though they had mud on them), not a good look for Denlo dealer delivery. Cleaned and put on the krytox this arvo.
Took a an hour or so do to it correctly, but hopefully will forestall any issues with water leaks.
Bought the Krytox from local supplier. While I was at it bought enough for the next couple of years, as he will not supply 50 ml bottles once they run out.

Oh yeah, who is the better dealer for first service?

    Will keep you all updated.

    Yes Klaus those TDIs go

My advice to you and Mrs. Klaus beware of speed limit at all times
My Mother got two speeding fines in her 1.9 TDI man within two months of driving it from purchase.
