Eos with updated TDI 170HP motor?

Does anyone know when the EOS will receive the updated 2.0 TDI 170HP motor? This is now available on the GOLF and PAASAT?

my guess is not long at all... maybe when it gains popularity in the golf and passat, then they'll stick it in the eos. then again maybe not since they dont sell many eos's compared to golfs and passats. maybe ben knows?

we uber-cool TDi Eos owners could just chip the beast - needs a little boost compared to my prev TDi golf!... just running it in and then chipping time.

No news on 170hp TDI in Eos.

Engine will most likely appear in Eos facelift/upgrade not due for another 2 years or so.

    Hello
    This is my first post.
Just interested to see what people are doing to their cars.
I've owned a Golf 2.0TDi for last 2 1/2 years and had OBD Optican flash tuning done. It also gives 125kw (170 PS) and a higher torque. This is copied and pasted direct from OBD german site;:-

    Before tuning;

    Hubraum in cm 3 1968 cm3
    Nennleistung in KW/PS 103KW / 140PS
    Nennleistung bei U/min 4000U/min
    Nenndrehmoment in Nm 320 Nm
    Nenndrehmoment bei U/min

    1750-2500 U/min
    Höchstgeschwindigkeit in km/h 207 km/h
    Verbrauch Stadt 7.3l
    Verbrauch Bahn 4.8l

    After Tuning

    Optimierung Motorsport
    Hubraum in cm 3 1968 cm3
    Nennleistung in KW/PS 125KW / 170PS
    Nennleistung bei U/min 4000U/min
    Nenndrehmoment in Nm 375 Nm
    Nenndrehmoment bei U/min

    1750-2500 U/min
    Höchstgeschwindigkeit in km/h 210 km/h
    Verbrauch Stadt 6.7l
    Verbrauch Bahn 4.3l

so from a standard of 103kw and 320 NM up to 125kw & 375 NM for about $1500. This is cheaper than the upgraded motor being sold by VW .
In the Golf the effect is quite startling especially on the open road. In the Eos (and yes I'm going to do it when it arrives, hopefully this weekend) it might be slightly less so but it will still be very quick. So whether you go OBD, RevoTechnik or other, the Germans seem to know how to make these diesels sing and I definitely recommend for one of these Flash upgrades. My fuel consumption has been around 4.7 - 5.0 l/100km and a best of 3.8l/100km.
This is just my opinion but I can vouch for the results. So don't wait for a less powerful and more expensive upgraded engine when it is available now.

hi there welcome to the forum, start a thread in the relevant section and introduce yourself

ive owned both the 103kw golf and now the 125kw gt tdi but i can say with complete confidence that simply chip tuning the comfortline does definitely not turn it into a gt. for the 5k premium for the gt tdi over the 103kw tdi you get: bbs wheels, sports suspension setup, bigger turbo (yes it has a bigger turbo, not just an ecu re-map), better seats, better features (climate control, full sized MFD) and imo it is much more than 5000$ worth of value. and then if you're still itchy the 125kw tdi can be remapped to 150kw

not meaning to rubbish the 103kw tdi, its a great motor and car, but the gt golf is superior in many ways
