    Eos Bluetooth

Have had the Eos for 1 week and very happy except for the bluetooth system

Has anyone else had problems with it in that the other party only hears echo of themselves

I have adjusted the output speaker to all positions but not difference

The microphone has been munted in front of the steering wheel and I suspect that this may be some of the problem

I have also been told by the dealer that there is a free upgrade coming

    Hey Fred

I assume you are talking about the Dealer fitted Blue Tooth kit and if so I have used it since the car was delivered in June. No problems with echo and my mic is fitted in the same place as yours at the base of the instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel.

What handset? If it's a Nokia 6120, then it may be more an issue with the phone. There's a firmware update that you can download via PC sync, which pretty much cures the problem in that handset (and there's probably other Nokia models with the same technology -- don't know)

    Bluetooth

Yes it is the genuine VW option and Sony Erricsson phone

I have since hassled the dealer and been advised that up until a few months ago it was a Parrot system but in trying save a few dollars they have been fitting a cheaper sytm and getting lots of complaints.

Still waiting for response and hopefully have a Parrot system instead

Is there much difference with the top up or down in the system that you have?

    Hey Fred

I have the Parrot system and use it with a Nokia phone and have had no problems. I usually put the side windows up at the front if I am driving with the top down at any speed to make things easier for the listener on the other end.

    Thnks for the reply

It appears from what I can gather that the parrot system is OK but VW have swapped to another system called EGOS which they are having trouble with

Currently trying to get the dealer to swap to a Parrot and hopefully my problems will be solved

    Fred,

Have a squizz at my thread with the bluetooth issue you are experiencing. Am sure that the Parrot system will fix your problem.

    Guys,

Echo effect in bluetooth systems is common, speak to your dealer who can get an exchange upgrade system.

This should fix most probs unless the phone has issues which is common.

    Blue Tooth

Well after a few attempts at trying different units by the EGO dealer - not VW dealer they finally decided that there was a problem with the EGO system/ my car / phone combination and installed a Parrot system and so far whilst not totally perfect itis at laest useable

    Hope it lasts

    Integrated Volkswagen Bluetooth

With the delay in the integratedEGO system now not expected until October I obtained a refund from my dealer.

Spoke to Guy at Harding Performance (Bris) who liaised with Dean at Volkspower (Vic) to install the proper factory bluetooth.

A bit expensive but it works and integrates nicely with the RNS510 and MFD3.

    Couldn't be happier.
