Finaly new tyres on. Much quiter now than scaloped Michelin Diamaris which lasted 32,000km. Should get at least double from the Coopers which have TWR (tread wear rating) 700, compared to Diamaris TWR220, I should be more careful when I was getting them .

Did the brake fluid change while the wheels were off.

I got only 25000km on the Pirelli PZero Rossos which I thought was very disappointing,

The new tyres fitted are Continental Conti4x4Contact in 255/60R17-106H at about $340ea.

So far so good, cannot fault it in any area, I hope they last longer than the Rossos.

The fluid looks dirty in the bottle against the ground but the colour was still OK, as well as the boiling point. The brake pedal feel stayed the same, but now have a bit of vibration from the RDA slotted discs, they didn't last even 10,000km, so I'll be back to ATE discs, and no more RDA's, since the discs I fitted to my T5 started to vibrate close to 20,000km as well.

The 245/65/17 Pirelli Scorpion ATRs I bought three years ago have now covered over 55,000km and only have about 3mm of legal tread left so time to change. These have been excellent tyres but I am not sure if they are still available in this size. I will check but I thought I would take the opportunity to see what long term experience others have had on different tyres.

What tyres have you tried and how many Kms did you get?

    Cheers

The original Pireli Pzero rosso lasted just 30,000km, very similar were Michelin Diamaris. I'm quite happy with the Coopers done now around 10,000km and no visible wear.

    Thanks for that.

Given that I am not needing the off-road ability of the Scorpion ATRs I am tempted to go for the Scorpion STRs in the original 255/60/17 size. I have read good feedback on these. Any thoughts from fellow treg owners? Thanks. Geoff

This time I went with tread wear rating, which is whopping 700 on the Coopers.
My previous Michelins were only TWR 200 and lasted only 30k km.
