Hi all

I never drove a manual one before, so a few questions for the lovely new Treg 150TDI i got:

i) how often do you shift to tiptronic to get the manual control? after reading the user manual and internet posts, I feel probably only using it when driving long down hills, and overtaking?
ii) is it true that frequent usage of tiptronic is likely to cause more trouble with transmision? someone suggested to use low gears to slow down/curving so you do not need to brake often, but others saying cheaper to replace brakes then transmision! totally lost here...
