Latest outing in the Brindabella's
Mt Coree 1370m
Rear lifted again.
Seikels in the house
Yer it's a slippery slope in more ways than one.
I still have to fit the Seikel suspension I bought which I'm going to combine withe some spacers to give around 3" of lift. Currently I'm up about 2" and have had no problems with the drive shaft angles.
It's gonna be close with the new setup.
I have mocked it up and it's not to crazy.
It should end up about 25mm above full height on air assist touareg but offer much more down travel and articulation than an aired system.
I have had water over the bonnet and on removal of the air box's show some water coming in.
Having two air box's I think helps a lot here as you would have to fill both box's to suck any water up.
And being petrol it's a little less sensitive.
Factory wading depth on steel suspension is 500mm.
The diff breathers are pretty good , the front mounts up near the headlight on the rhs air box actually and the rear is hidden up in the ar well with the fuel filler and breather.
Will be a nice piece of mind with the snorkels though.
I haven't noticed anything noise wise with the underbelly protection.
In your caseit might be a bit of ressinance from a loose bolt , could be worth checking everything is tight.
Going to get the missus another one and go to town on this one. Can't wait.
Give us a yell if you want to catch up Dean. Even come for a run , I will be gentle on you.
Looks tough.
You won't even have to put it on a lift to check out the underbody soon!
Love the LED lights.
How'd does your t'reg compare to the 80, height and clearance wise?
The 80's got 35's so it has a bit more clearance but the treg was actually quite well matched to it.
Really pointed out how well the treg's central locker and limited differentials work. The 80 has a Lokka rear diff locker fitted.
