Are you towing anything on dirt/gravel roads your trip to NT? I've just gone through the nausea of having broken a rear window. If you are, invest in some cardboard or other shock absorbing material to protect the glass.
Cheers and welcome

Not towing, although the towbar is installed. There is a bunch going and the rest are in catered 4wds. I just dont make a good passenger.
I should mention that VW have also come up with a bluetooth kit that makes use of the 12v outlet on the console. I had this installed afterwards (as the kit was still on test), takes about 2 hours and cost $699.00.
You end up with a spun aluminium button that looks quite nice.
There are a few other options that I would have liked but was not prepared to wait for (had to wait long enough).
Would have liked:
- Sat Nav.
- Factory Bluetooth.
- Rear wheel carrier.
- Memory package for seats.
- Air suspension.
I found it dissapointing that VW Aust is bringing such a great vehicle in to meet price points that really do not do justice to the vehicle.
As an example, I wanted both sunroof and spare, however all the cars coming in Black or Galapogas had one or the other... not both.
But I am not complaining too much, it is great fun.
nice package, I have not seen a black t'reg with chrome nose before, I think it looks classy!
Agree with you, VGA marketing is quite abstract in Oz, personally I would have made the full size spare and fog lights standard (you get these on $30k cars as standard in Oz and they are so essential). But they sell as many cars as they get allocated so I guess they must be OK.
re' cars that VGA brings in....(I have a story about toyota) my mother wants to give up her old benz diesel for a new petrol yota so off we went to the nearest yota dealer, she is a 'hard to please' customer, the deal took over 3 hours, and I couldn't believe what ever she threw at them, they could go through the range of cars, colours, model designation and return fire with we have that car, that colour, that model designation in stock (at a price my mother thought was good value). I had planned on visiting a vw dealer afterwards....but it seems there's no need.
cheers
Ok, here are pics.
We went to Aileron in NT and then back to a place approx 50km North East of Jervois. Approx 250km each way of dirt on Plenty Highway (ie 500km all up)... no mud but tons of dust. Most had been shaken off by time pics were taken.
All up 6000km round trip in 10 days, Treg went great, loved the NT speed limits.
Was more than impressed with tyres as did not get a flat...
It is amazing to watch the Galapagos change colour in different light... much more bronze in NT.
No dust leakage.
Also visited Uluru... wow is that big...
Way cool I love dirty Touaregs Geoff
Are you going to go see The Bourne Ultimatum ? as the Touareg plays a huge part in the chase scene
Also saw a facelift Treg outside cinemas for promotional purposes
