Got a Touareg!

Hi everyone,
I might be hanging around in here a little more now - managed to sell my allroad this week and have picked up a lovely Touareg.

I was fortunate to find pretty much exactly what I was looking for - a V6 almost fully optioned, including the all important air suspension. After having 2 allroads, I just cannot imagine going back to a large vehicle without adjustable shocks and air suspension. I've seen people write that theres not much difference in the feel - but there really, really is. I drove a 2008 V6 with steel suspension, and it was quite noticeably more bouncy/lurchy.

Its a 2007 with the BKS engine, and its in "individual" trim, so has been spec'd with dark leather with white inserts, has the Individual embossing on the headrests and door sills, and the 'I' shield badge on the front wings. Kinda funky!

Pretty good condition overall, drives like a dream, a few scratches here and there which is fine, as i'll feel less precious about taking it bush

I'll try to post some pics/videos of any offroad action I manage to get to in time.

I don't plan to mod it... but I am terrible at leaving my cars stock... so I guess we shall see

The only thing I have planned is an electric brake controller.

Congratulations!
We still like our 2008, it's been very reliable over its +150,000km. Road tested new one last year and decided to keep the old one.

This one has 158k on it and drives wonderfully.
I'd kind of like some 19" wheels for it but they seem to be quite pricey in the 2nd hand market. The PO switched out the 21" wheels it had on it for the 17's. Sensible, but not quite to my liking.

Did some offroading on the weekend - organised a meet on ClubTouareg forum. I put together a little video of the footage from our meet. I am really impressed at how good the touareg is offroad! Definitely a proper 4wd.

Nice pickup and nice video too. Enjoyed it. I just picked myself up a Treg too. 2013 V8tdi. Love it!! Currently sourcing some 20's for it with all terrain tyres so we can do some light off roading in it as opposed to ruining the 21's on it!!! Also sourcing a roof platform as well for it.
