    Coming/leaving home lights not working

Hey guys, we picked up our 2013 150 on Friday and I am having trouble with the coming/leaving home lights, they just don't want to work.
I have changed the time delay in the system, turned the light switch all the positions and they still don't want to work. Dealership was useless and couldn't help, typical. I do live 600 kms from them though.

I've checked the manual and found nothing that helped. Is there some sort of trick to it? Certainly wasn't this difficult with the GTI.

    Thanks

Stupid question but you have turned on the option under the settings? I assume so as you mention the delay, may be you set the delay but didn't turn the option on?

Apologies if you have already done this. Just I know it's an option on my s3 and would take a photo but not with the car at the mo sorry...

Good question, there is no setting to turn it on or off that I can find or that's listed in the manual. There is only the option of the delay time

Flick the high beam flasher just as you are getting out. Works on a Passat so should work on yours There is a time setting for them in Lights in my MFD

That worked, but surely you don't have to flick the lights every time you want them on? The manual doesn't mention anything about flicking the high beam

Pretty sure that you do when you are leaving the vehicle. When you unlock the car as you approach to get in it though they should work automatically (at least they do in my GTI and Tiguan).

Same in the Passat if I open the door in the garage the lights and under outside mirror lights come on for the time set in the MFD.

My headlights are normally set on AUTO

I rarely worry about the coming home as I don't go out at night much or if I do I stop in a lit area. Must try it sometime LOL

So I have worked the leaving home lights out. The switch needs to be set to auto and the ambient light needs to be low as the car senses the amount of light around it. Don't know how it does it, guessing rain sensor?

I am still stumped by the coming home ones though, as they are the ones I really want to work. As Hillbilly mentioned I may just have to flick the light stalk to activate them

You have it correct Every time you go to get out flick the stalk. Why they don't come on with the door opening I don't know.

Mine has a light sensor in the back of the rear vision mirror Presume yours does as well Little square in bottom corner.
