Ah, I see, I took it to mean Up To December 2010, but if that's just one month's sales figures, that's staggering.

It sure is,but South Africa is VW country,as they are the market leaders.

Traditionally,the Jetta was always its big seller,as company fleets had them,as they had massive boots,were more economical than bigger cars,and had great resale values.

But when the Polo sedan was launched in 1996,a lot of people bought the much cheaper Polo,and this has now become the main focus for VWSA...followed by the Golf and Jetta.

The Passat NEVER took off there,probably because it is far too expensive ???

VW build most of the right hand drive new generation Polos for all over the world.

They now fully import Golf 6 models from Germany,and late this year will import Jettas from Mexico.

I am from South Africa,but have been here for 10 years.

However,as I still have a lot of ties there,I go back about every 18 months.

Its actually an incredably beautiful country,and if it was not for the crime,it would be utopia,and I would still be living there.
