VW Golf R v Scirocco R v Mitsubish Evo v Subaru v Honda, etc - Race at Tsukuba

Skip to the 7:30 mark to watch an interesting race (or watch the whole thing if you want to compare [presumably] quarter-mile times.

Interesting to see the difference between the Golf and Roc (is their version of the Roc AWD as well? - ours is FWD). Not sure how equal the drivers are of course.

Interesting race Never heard about of AWD scirocco, based on the weights of the cars given before it seems to be FWD. I think reason for the outcome is they did not launch R properly where it can fully use AWD advantage. But in gear acceleration I think Roc R had more advantage with low weight , aerodynamic body design etc. With launch I heard R can hit quarter mile in mid to high 13s as well.

Very Japanese - totally unscientific but totally fun to watch even if you don't speak Japanese

Clearly they didn't launch the Golf R as otherwise it would have left the Scirocco spinning its wheels on the start line.

Interesting watching though and I agree that the ranking of each car in the "race" was likely highly dependent on the driver.... though the Roc was pulling away on the straights.
