i find it interesting that police are always under-resourced, yet in NSW they are also responsible for parking fines??
in WA, the local councils look after parking, which frees up police to do serious policing (like fining jay-walkers LOL)

I saw a couple of people pulled over on my way upto Sydney yesterday, all highway patrol. They are never going to stop booking people, play it safe.

Their point is about revenue - not policing.
This happened a while back, maybe 9 months ago. I got pulled over in a school zone (didn't see it). Was given a stern talking to, and then was let go. Didn't mention anything about their strike until the last minute though, and I was pretty relieved..
