Thread: Timing Belts for 1.8 5-valve engines.

  1. #21

Been reading up on timing belts recently, and was wondering what I should do for my Polo TDI? Service manual says every 120,000km but people here are saying change it sooner? What is the best course of action if I plan on keeping this car a long time?

Wow! That's including parts... I thought it was expensive but I didn't realise it was a complete rip

Can someone in Melbourne give me a heads-up on where they've gotten a timing belt, waterpump etc replaced and approximately how much? I don't need to know what VolksPower charges for this job

Snowy, thanks for the heads up. Maybe that's why I haven't heard much about the underdrives? I'll try and find out more anyway.
