Not good for anyone hoping for a SEAT relaunch in Australia ....
I would have loved a 177kw Cupra R ....
Volkswagen South Africa has just announced that it will stop importing and selling the Seat range by the end of 2008.
The brand was launched in June 2006,and in 27 months,a total of only 2600 cars have been sold.
Warranties, service plans, and servicing will be done by the 300 VW dealers in SA,and Seat owners will be offered good trade ins if they trade their cars in for new VW products.
Maybee they should have launched Skoda instead of Seat...

Maybe I'm the only one on here and it may well be blasphemous, but I've never really been a fan of SEAT![]()

I personally think SEAT is stuffed I hate the new 'edgey' design language.

Reading the latest financtial reports for the VW group,it seems as if all models from all the brands are selling very well world wide, with the exception of Seat.
All the models numbers are down over the same period last year, and the
brand in general seems to be struggling a little bit.
Maybee their models are a bit TOO edgy and out there...
PatienceSkoda started off on about 100-150 cars a year in NZ for the first 4 years, but this year are already at 300, making them behind only the Germans, Peugeot and Fiat (When Commercials are factored) in the Euro sales race. At the moment they are the fastest growing brand here.
SEAT is a lost cause though, the second I saw the current Toledo I was completely over the brand.
