    Porsche GTI ???

I've 1st heard about this a few months ago now.

Now more speculation about the TTS (R20T) engine ending up in the Boxster and Cayman ....

It would be cheaper and lighter on fuel than the current base models.

I'd buy 1 for sure then. A Cayman with a 2.0T engine .... glorious idea ... some tuning and it would be quicker than the Cayman S ..

Yeah, it's a bit of a 914 setup. Porsche bits and volksie bits.

Pretty solid donor engine though. The 2.0T series has won heaps of awards... and the FSI/DSG setup works with Porsche's current campaign for DFI/PDK.

I'd prefer a X-bow though. Those are sooooo hot.

Aren't there also rumours of Porsche producing an entirely new model built on the Golf GTI chassis? Like their own premium hatchback to compete (or more likely sit above?) the R20T and S3 ?

I thought it was more of a baby cayman than a hatch. Could be wrong though.

From what i have read from my monthly car mag subscriptions all 6.Half are

European ,is that Porsche aren't doing as well as they like due to the WFC

and are going to build a new hatch model based on a the 928.So they can

get more bite of the pie so to speak. The engine will be a 2ltr turbo from the

new TTRS which arrives here late this year manually only for $140 000.Sorry

to get off track and the Porsche will start at $80 000 and climb from there.

Production not to start for a few years yet!!

Not fact!! But rumours from the halls of Porsche Europe!!

I might get my Porsche before i'm 40 after all!!

    cheers

They are "thinking" of bringing back the 356 priced around $80000 mark. But those are just rumors. A new 928 replacement might come as well

yes it is, he prob meant the TTS

Thank god they are keeping the 911 Purely Flat 6.... that would be sacrilege.

but, I wouldnt say no to a Cayman with that GTI engine in it. Certainly would be more tuneable than the NA 6, and an affordable Porsche, WOOHHOOOO
